5 weeks!

Until Dad gets home! I am counting the days! The days actually number 24--5 weeks is a rounded number.

Mama and Dad got me a 6 month membership to a ladies' gym for Christmas. I went every weekday this past week and I feel great!

Mama is having Ethan, Naomi, and Joshua read Paul Johnson's A History of the American People for their (wait for it) American history credit. So I volunteered to read it first and write tests, short essay questions and full essay questions for them. It's a great read. I'm really enjoying it! I have wanted to read it for a while now. I figured that volunteering to write a curriculum around it would be a good way to guarantee that I read it.

Hebrew class starts up again tomorrow. I'm so excited! I hope I haven't forgotten everything over the break.

I remembered!

It is highly ironic to me that hippie symbols are becoming fashionable.  Hippies were free love, socialist, commercilization is evil, kind of people.  But now their symbols have been commercialized and are becoming fashionable among people who are too stupid to know the history of what they're wearing.

Quotes and History

I would like to note that on this day in 241 B.C., the Romans sank the Carthaginian fleet.  Also, a very happy birthday to Chuck Norris, 69 and still going strong.

Asking a working writer what he thinks about critics is like asking a lamppost how it feels about dogs."
Christopher Hampton

"Painting: The art of protecting flat surfaces from the weather and exposing them to the critic."
Ambrose Bierce

"Bureaucracy defends the status quo long past the time when the quo has lost its status."
Laurence J. Peter

Was I the only one who knew nothing of the Lattimer Massacre?

On this day in 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. I'm still amazed that it's actually possible but I don't think I would ever want to go there myself.

My hair turned out a lot redder than I had wanted it. It's magenta, at best. My worry is that it will fade to pink and my hope is that it will fade to purple. :) I'm getting lots of long stares and good reactions. And I'm not posting pictures yet until I get the chance to shock a few more people.

The 7th Harry Potter comes out TOMORROW! *jumps up and down* Y'all are all forbidden to tell me anything.

I'm going to go google a lot of things for the chemistry CLEP. Love y'all!
