Mama's Hair
Mama has what we call "the Pryor girls' hair". Pryor is her mother's maiden name. All of the women descendants have thick, glossy, healthy hair that either waves or curls. I don't know if you can tell from such a close up shot, but Mama's hair waves at the ends.
Mama's hair has been going gray for a couple of years now. I say gray--it's more silver. I think it's even prettier now with so much silver than it has been in the past. I'm so glad she's not one of those ladies who dyes their hair.
Something you cannot tell from the picture is that Mama's hair is also very soft. She prefers to fix her hair and then spray it with hairspray, but Dad doesn't like the texture of it when it has hairspray in it. He plays with her hair a lot. So, she goes without styling most of the time.

Bad news. After only 2 showers and one swim both the pink/purple highlights and the blonde are both fading at a fast rate. The highlights are almost gone and my natural color is already starting to show. I wonder if I can get a refund...

On this day in 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. I'm still amazed that it's actually possible but I don't think I would ever want to go there myself.
My hair turned out a lot redder than I had wanted it. It's magenta, at best. My worry is that it will fade to pink and my hope is that it will fade to purple. :) I'm getting lots of long stares and good reactions. And I'm not posting pictures yet until I get the chance to shock a few more people.
The 7th Harry Potter comes out TOMORROW! *jumps up and down* Y'all are all forbidden to tell me anything.
I'm going to go google a lot of things for the chemistry CLEP. Love y'all!

Did you know that today is Red Skelton's birthday?
Last night I wrote all the Chinese words I know on a marker board. Then I went to bed, thought of more words but was too tired to get back up and write them down, and just now realized that I forgot to count all the words which was the whole point of the exercise. Anyway, it filled the whole markerboard.
I called Chera this morning! It was so good to get to talk to her, even though the phone card ran out 3 minutes into the conversation. Apox upon empty phonecards!
Tonight I get my hair highlighted with purple. I was going to dye the whole thing purple but I got to looking at how short and curly my hair is now and realized that I would look like I was wearing a clown wig if I dyed the whole thing. So highlights it is...
This summer in Taiwan has thorougly cemented my adoration of gmail. How did I ever live with just Yahoo and Microsoft Outlook?

I cut my hair a week ago Saturday. It's now layered, very curly with no weight on it, and goes just to my neck. I don't want to be vain, but I look really cute with it!
Saturday was my last day at Warehouse Market. It feels good to plan my time myself.
I would like to pause for a moment of panic in observation of the 2-week mark in the countdown to Taiwan. *runs around screaming and ends up sobbing in the fetal position* Thank you, as you were.
Chera, Ethan lost $5 betting one of his students at gym couldn't lick her elbow.
I am now doing my visa myself because Evan Smith was never going to get it done and was going to charge me the $100 processing fee from the embassy. The only reason I was having him do that was because I thought that fee was waived because of what a large order we made. Now just pray that it goes off without a hitch and gets here really soon.
Dad leaves tomorrow for a week of training in hydro-generator maintence. And guess where it's held? Cour'de Laine, Idaho less than 3 hours from Wilbur! He's going to get to see most everybody over the weekend and come home Sunday. I am so jealous!
Love y'all!
