Have a holly, jolly Christmas...
I love Christmas carols and listening to our Christmas cds. I don't particularly go for the songs about the season (except for the Burl Ives one that titles this post) but I love the religious ones. And I like playing them even better than hearing them. I haven't sat down and played very many at the piano, but I've been randomly picking different ones to play on the violin. I was even able to fiddle O Come All Ye Faithful! And then on the flute I've just been doing the ones we're doing for band: O Come Little Children, O Come O Come Emmanuel, What Child is This, Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee, Sleep of the Child Jesus, Angels We have Heard on High, In a Manger Sleeping, and Holy Night.
Poor Mr. Roper has come down bad sick with the flu the day before the concert. Pray hard for him. Also pray that he will not be foolishly optimistic and not have a back up director. Oh, and for just a school band we sound pretty good. I'm so upset about missing the actual concert! But I can't really complain when Tim gave me those 3 days off on such short notice after my wreck.
There was tons more I was going to write about (mostly warm fuzzy stuff about friends) but I'm just too tired. I'm going to curl on the couch with lots of pillows and fleeces and something to write. Love y'all!
