Friday night
was Larry R.'s (from karate) surprise 50th birthday party. Ethan, Naomi, Joshua, and I drove down to his church in Tulsa and had a great time. On the way home I accidently took one exit too soon off of 169. Of course, I realized this just as soon as it was too late to get off the exit ramp. "No problem." I think as I cruise towards a green light. "I'll just take that on ramp on the other side of my green light." As I go through on green a minivan drives through on red and T-bones us.
Good news: God is good and is Emmanuel (God with us) Nobody was majorly or permanently hurt. The car didn't roll, hit the metal pole of the traffic light, or go into another lane of traffic (we were pushed directly onto the median, safely outside of traffic.) The cars behind us were able to stop without hitting us or causing a pile up. Despite not being able to find my glasses that night, Dad found them on the median this morning and after extreme adjusting by my wonderful eye-doctor-assistant I'm no longer walking around in a fog.
Bad news: Alison is totaled. Being the amazing car she is her engine still runs but her front axle is bent, the front left tire looks like playdough, the left doors won't open, and the driver's window is broken. Which leads to the other bad news... I have a minor concussion from breaking said window with my head. I knocked two of my skull plates out of place while doing so. I tore the place where 3 neck muscles come together as well as generally throwing my back way out. I was checked out at the ER that night (rant about that later) and by the chiropractor today and am feeling tons better despite some soreness and bruising.
Pictures of car will be forthcoming with more details.
I had made a couple of predictions that Mama wants me to put on here so that I can have proof of thought whenever they come true.
1. Coming soon: I-pod/cellphone. We already have cellphones that take pictures so that's the next step. Boze (sp?) already has tiny speakers with amazing sound capabilities. As that technology improves that will go into the i-pod/phone. Pictures from cellphones will improve in quality. It's just the next step on the way to Artemis Fowl's C-Cube.
2. You know the radio stations that stores buy subscriptions to so they can have a mix of old-and-new-music with no commercials? Those are going to go out of business or turn into internet sites to download playlists to play on your store's ipod.
Gotta go. Love y'all!
