Greetings fellow earthlings!

Well, we have good news and bad news on the health front. We do not have strep, we have what appears to be a typical head cold with a fever thrown in. The bad news is that I've caught the throat part. It's taking everybody much longer to get over this bug than usual. Please pray for us.

Last night Samuel, Ethan, and I went to the chess night at Java Dave's. Ryan, Benjamin, and Aaron Schafer, Isaiah Persson, Destiny and Mr. Sawyer, and 2 kids I don't know the names of were all there. Also there was the highest rated player in OK, Chuck Somebody and his daughter, who's name I never caught. I watched Destiny play him several times, and then he started a game with me and Ethan, then we interrupted it to get him to show us some things about king's gambit. He also showed us the 4 evaluation points: material, development, space, and timing. It was really interesting.

Karate went really well Monday. The kata is starting to click when Mr. Garza made the analogy of every turn being towards the inside of the kata, even if you looked the other way.

Monday a one-engine Cessna went down in or near a golf course just south of Broken Arrow. I'm not sure of the names, but the pilot was Mr. Sawyer's close friend and next-door neighbor. The 2 passengers were the pilot's brother and son-in-law. Very sad.

Remember the time change this Sunday!
