Good morning! It has been a very good morning for me. I have 4 loaves of bread baking right now, brownies (for my secret prayer sister.) waiting their turn. Then, we'll have lunch. After that I'll either wash the dishes or make oatmeal raisin cookies to give to Dad tomorrow. And sometime today I need to bathe Dixie and myself.
The weather was beautiful yesterday. I was expecting it to be humid after all the rain we've had, but it wasn't. I haven't stepped outside today yet, but I haven't heard any complaints from those that have.
Which reminds that I need to weed around the zinnias and gladiolas. Yesterday one of them had red buds. I wonder if it's bloomed yet.
Samuel wrote a poem and essay yesterday to enter in the writing contest that gboes along with the Tulsa's library reading program. He's also entering a short story he wrote a Christmas 2000. I wasn't in the writing mood so I didn't bother to write anything. I did skim over what I have written to see if I had anything to enter. Everything was way over the 2,500 word limit on essays and short stories. Maybe next year.
Right now I'm reading a collection of O. Henry's stories. I had read various stories out of his book, but never the whole thing through. Some of them are really good. And some are kinda dumb. But, he does have a good way of putting things. "Most peculiarly striking to the optic nerve, was this murderer."
I'm working on writing my own gospel tract. It's quite fun. My team leader at C.O.M.M.I.T. in Knoxville (Megan) gave me the challenge of having it done before August 1st.
Thank you, JC, Grandma. Sharyn, and James for your compliments on this blogger. YACHS is a commenting service, that only Hannah can figure out, from what I've heard. The problem is I can't find her address.
Gotta go. God bless y'all! Anna
