Shame on me for not updating!

I got my application for the RSU scholarship shipped off with much prayer. Now I'm really going to throw myself into the fundraiser for the Phillipines and getting ready for my brown belt test (that mostly means running and board breaking.)

Church is going to 2 services. Personally, I don't think we're big enough to go to 2 services, but what's done is done and we have such good Sunday schools and fellowships that I don't think it will change the congregation too much. For one thing, it's going to be the same service both times. Luke did a real funny spoof off of the opening Star Wars words-into-the-stars complete with music to announce it.

It's an interesting sensation to be sitting in Sunday school, writing down other people's prayer requests and to hear Samuel say out of the blue "Be praying for me and Jamie and another fellow from the BCM who are going down to New Orleans this weekend. We'll be scouting things out for the mission trip there during spring break." Blink, blink. Well, that's awesome! I was telling Sandy (Jamie's wife. The guy is Jamie) about this later and she said that she hadn't know he was going until he said something about it to somebody else. We got a good laugh out of it.

I get to go see the Dead Sea Scrolls tomorrow! And Ethan on down are getting in for half price because we're going with Mrs. William's co-op class. Oh yeah! I am excite!

Some friends from the BCM invited us to see Epic Movie with them. We saw it Friday night before the plugged-in review came out. We sincerely regretted spending nearly 7 bucks a piece on something so trashy. We were relieved to see that the rest of the BCM group was equally horrified and we all apologized profusely to each other. I would have much rather spent my money on Pursuit of Happyness or Night at the Musuem. Now I very much want to do my own parody of epic movies. I keep thinking of all these very obvious funny things that they left out because they were too busy making bathroom and sexual jokes.

I miss Arabic so bad. I really hope I can take it at TCC this fall.

I've gotta figure out how to make it to the Republican precincts meetings on Thursday that start at 7 when I don't get off work till 8. Any ideas?

My lips are so dry. I need more water. The water that comes out of the tap is so cold (seeing as it's winter) that I haven't been drinking much because I don't like refrigerating my insides. Maybe I should pick up the Taiwanese habit of drinking hot water.

William Wilburforce said:

"For true Christians, bodily and mental faculties, their naturally acquired abilities, their substance, their authority, their time, and their influence are not instruments of their own gratification; these belong and are consecrated to the honor of God and are employed in His service. This the master principle to which every other must be subordinate. Whatever may be previously have been the ruling passion; whatever their leading pursuit was before; whether sensual; or intellectual; whether of science, of taste, of fancy, or feeling—it is now of minor importance in comparison. In point of fact the passion exists only at the pleasure of its true and legitimate Master, and its owner places it entirely under His direction and control."
