Happenings 'round here
Mama called us from Taipei! Samuel will call us whenever he picks her up there on Kinmen.
We had our first adventure of shopping without Mama. Ethan and I wandered around the kitchen guestimating how long certain stuff would last us and how much we ate of various things. I think we did fairly well.
We got to talk with our displaced neighbor Mrs. G. today. She said the house will be torn completely and between water and smoke all of the furniture and appliances will be replaced. They moved into a rent house just today. It will probably be between 6 and 12 months before they're moved back in. She still seemed kinda dazed and upset. She said they'll come get Noodle whenever they get settled in more at the rent house. (Noodle is their adorable little rat that has been staying at our house.)
I need to email Kali and get the link to her blog again. I miss her lovely and infrequent posts.
I'm drinking some luscious green tea that Dad made after supper. It's really hitting the spot right now.
It snowed here Thursday morning. The bradford pear trees that have already leafed out looked really interesting with snow on them. It was like snow in white and green stripes. What was really cool looking were all the redbud trees. It looked like God had dropped special loads of purple snow just on the redbud trees. By the afternoon all the snow was gone and it was mostly in the 50s today.
It is soooooo awful what's been happening to Court's parents and siblings. It's like my worst nightmare actually happening to that family. Pray, pray, pray.
Also, be praying for Abdul Rahman. And call your representative and senators, the Presidential Comment line, adn the Afganistan Embassy in D.C.
Ethan, Naomi, Joshua, and I discussed housekeeping/cleaning theories today. They're mostly for spreading the cleaning through out the week and not having to do it all one day. I think the one day of cleaning is good because: A, It's nice to have everything clean at once. B, The house gets inspected by Dad or Mama. C, It's easier to do real deep cleaning on a day that we don't have to do school. We were all in agreement about doing floors and bathrooms two or three times a week. Ethan, Naomi, and I each made up a cleaning schedule. All three will be reviewed by Dad, Mama, BJ, and Uel who will make some kind of decision.
BonnieJean's comment on my previous post got me thinking and here's a list of careers/college majors that sound fun to me.
Marketing/Advertising
Teaching history, philophsy, or literature at the college level would be fun if you didn't mind being dirt poor.
Teaching music would be fun as a hobby. If I had oodles of money I would love to go to a music college just for the fun of getting to learn that much music.
Photography
Anything political, although I don't think I could work in that field for any long amount of time without the bureaucracy (sp?) driving me nuts.
I'm really tired so I hope all of this makes sense. I have to go fiddle with some things in the fish aquarium and get ready for bed. Love y'all!
