Long time, no post.

Let's remedy that.

I voted for the first time yesterday! There were only 2 things, both just for Rogers County. One was for a 50 cent tax on cellphones to pay for a honing system for 911 like we have for residential 911 calls. The other one was a half-of-a-cent sales tax increase to go to the county ambulance service. We've lived here for 4 years and they've had 3 different ambulance companies. Obviously, they're not making a profit. I voted yes on both propisitions. Great record for conservative me: first time I vote I vote for tax increases!

Last night Mama and I stayed up till 2 in the morning talking about her story. More accurately, I stayed up till 2 listening in rapt pleasure to Mama's story ideas. So this morning I got up with my alarm at 6:15 to get chickens up and collapsed back into bed at 6:30. Next thing I know Ethan is shaking me and saying it's 7 minutes until my worldview class starts (9). I was gone by 9 and resisted speeding by thinking of an $87 ticket, so I was still 25 minutes late. It turned out to be ok. None of us (including Sam) had understand Kant or Kierkerrgard (sp?) in the Schaeffer readings so we listened to an audio tape on him hoping to get a better grasp. The tape was utterly confusing. We've really liked the other tapes in this series so we're just writing the 2 K philophsers as a bad job and are moving on. The other book we're reading in Worldview right now is The Soul of Science which is most enjoyable.

I went shopping for Mama yesterday, Samuel, and almost made an impulse of a purple uniball pen. Alas, I didn't have any money, only Dad's, so I resisted.

You know how it goes with internet quizzes: if it's weird you say 'It's just a stupid internet quiz' and if it tickles your ears (eyes?) you post it. I've always loved Psalms so I am quite happy to post a quiz saying that I'm most like Psalms.

You are Psalms
You are Psalms.

Which book of the Bible are you?

Monday night I got to do Chento on the middle yellow line of the Will Rogers Turnpike. How often do you get to do that, eh? (Watching Brother Bear makes me sound like a Canadian. Hmmmm..) We had gone to the dollar theater (watched Valiant and Sky High. Loved 'em!) and got out just in time to dash home, eat and grab gear bags, and head back to karate. About halfway between the Port of Catoosa exit and the first Claremore exit traffic comes to a complete standstill. All we know is that it was an accident involving a horsetrailer and a pickup truck. Construction was going on so we were already down to 2 lanes. They couldn't open up another lane for us because it happened right at the spot where they park the huge construction rigs. Further down the lane from us they finally got the wreck cleaned up and got traffic moving. Some idiot got impatient and ran into the back of the semi in front of him. Dead halt once again. We knew all this because the truck behind us had a CB. So what games can you play with 6 people, 2 cars and the room they take up in one lane with concrete dividers on either side, 1 flashlight, 1 pen, and couple pages of lined notebook paper? Hangman, balance competitions on the concrete divider, relay races, kata competitions, human-train-as-fast-as-you-can-round-the-cars, impromptu concerts, and the alphabet game. We were in the same place for an hour and 25 minutes. By that time, we were late even for the 7 p.m. class and very tired of sitting in the car so we just stayed home.

I went to Mr. Burnett's class last night. We did drills, tournament kata, and self defenses. Mr. Burnett complimented me hugely on my wansai ni. I so bad want that first place!

I was going to write tons more about BJ, Dad, and Chera but I have to get offline now and go to bed. Till next time!
