Long time, no post.
Sorry! It's partly because I've been busy, partly because the server wouldn't load the blogger control center, and partly because I'm lazy.
I had an absolute blast with Chera! Face-to-face is way better than the internet and beats the phone hands down. Couple observations from seeing her in 'real life'.
Her hair is incrediably like Mama's. Not quite as thick, but wavy, curls at the end, and the same soft, silky feel.
She's such a servant! Despite it being a strange home she certainly did a lot of the work.
She's dashed good at making crossword puzzles.
Her parents are really cool and I wish they had had more time to stay. Something about jobs and time limits. ;)
*sigh* Now I miss her.
Big Announcment Samuel has decided to go to Taiwan for six months starting in January. He'll either be on Kinmen or a new location, Matzu, another small island just off the coast of China, north of Kinmen. They're sending two guys to Kinmen (they're going to start doing second grade and junior high on Kinmen), and three new people to Matzu. IBLP will try as hard as they can to get Samuel in Kinmen so he can be with BJ, but it's not definite.
Wearing: tie-dye shirt, gray slacks, white socks.
Eating: Nothing. But I had a lovely breakfast of sausage.
Listening to: It's actually amazing quiet around here. Everybody's either outside or reading. Maybe I'll turn on some music.
Thinking: That I'm very tired and have no reason to be so.
Reading: I actually don't have any other windows open right now, even though I'm sadly behind on the RI and bloggers. Books I'm reading right now are Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin, Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis, and The Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling.
