Sleepy.

I got uncovered last night so I didn't sleep well. Which has now given me writer's block. Let's see what random things I come up with.

It was a dark and stormy night. The black shadow of a hooded man flitted across the boardwalk under the lone lamp. Jose tightened his grip on the colt pistol his father had given him and scanned the perimeter of the town again straining to see anything other than darkness. A door slammed somewhere.

Jose's gaze drifted towards the train depot where the payrolls for the entire Santa Florenco mine were being loaded. The large, unmarked bundles had only been in the town for half an hour and would quit their brief stay in about 15. 45 minutes, from the time the express pulled up to the time the freight train pulled out. The time it took to unload $1 million from an express train and into a freight train that would take it into the nearby mountains. It was certainly enough time for any group of bandits to sweep through the small town of Maria de Flore and take all they wanted. Especially when the sherrif is passed out in the saloon half the time. "Well, that's why you hire gun carrierers if your miners are threatening to quit over not being paid." thought Jose.

The horses in the livery stable started snorting and stamping. One neighed. Jose leaned forward and willed his eyes to see through the black. Then he felt the cold of a gun muzzle in his back.

To be continued...
