7 days until the election!

Pray hard!

Joshua passed his blue belt test last night! I am so glad they finally got around to re-testing the poor fellow! Samuel said he did real well!

I didn't get to see him test because I went to the last Coburn/Carson debate with the Williams. We got there early and waved signs at the entrance to the auditorium along with the Fell. and Bow.. I'm afraid there were more Carson signs than Coburn but we certainly were a lot more enthusiastic. We got the impression that perhaps some of them were hired. Oh, and we did chants. 'Vote Coburn!' 'Choose life! Vote Coburn!' 'Waste not! Tax not! Vote Coburn!' The actual debate was really cool! Coburn covered all the points he's been using since the primary but managed not to sound too polished and memorized, stayed very real. Carson was very polished, slick. Reminded me of a cars salesman. Carson did talk faster so he got to cover more and he managed to sound like Coburn had been running vicious attack ads. 'I'm sick and tired of how negative this campgain has become. I've been demonized and called every name under the sun. Enough is enough. That's why you're not going to see any more negative ads from me.' That's his way of apologizing for claiming Coburn is an abortionist. Coburn had some lovely quotables. Carson had just done a flowery closing statement invoking every other famous Oklahoman politician in it's entire history and saying he wanted to be remembered as one of them. Then Coburn... 'I don't want to be remembered as a senator. I want to be remembered as someone who truly represented Oklahoma's greatness.' BTW, these are all just general quotes. Another good Coburn line: 'Carson will tell you what you want to hear. I'll tell you the truth which isn't always politically correct. I'll talk straight in Washington and bring some fiscal sanity to a bloated congress. I'll give a get-well notice to the career politicians in WA that says 'Get back in line.''

I'm sure that was very boring to some of y'all who aren't activley involved in OK politics. After the debate the Williams decided to drive over to the Coburn mailing room and do some stamping. Dad was putting in a couple of hours at the office (he has this week off) and he was going to swing by and take me home because mama didn't want us out late. First he got lost and had to go back to the office to call for directions again. Then when he finally got there he ended up sitting at a table stamping while talking to Mr. Bak. and Mr. Sut.. We ended up leaving at 11, after the Williams had left. I hadn't really wanted to leave early so it was 'a God thing' that Dad decided to come by. The only downside is that I slept in really late this morning, if you call that bad. :)

I took the ACT Saturday. I've been so busy with campaigning and working on Paul as well as the rest of school that I really only had two days to prepare. I wasn't able to finish the math or science questions so I had to just fill in the middle circle on the questions left. I didn't do well on the math section becuase I hadn't practiced before hand but I was able to recognize the problems and vaguely remember how to do them. So I know that next time I'll have more time to prepare and be able to do a lot better. The science section was really fun but I was just really slow at it. Reading and English were a breeze, as always.

I can't remember if I've told y'all about the volary (volari? volarry?) before. But it's a big, old, 6 passenger, 76 plymouth volary with an exhaust leak. So we took apart a big hunk of the engine to get down to the intake and exhaust manifolds, replaced gaskets, cleaned it, bought new studs, reinstalled everything, still had a leak, did the whole process again, and still had a leak. So, we're going to have to send it to the junkyard. *sniff* Paul was a good car. The other bummer is that it looks like we're only going to get $50 for him. It's certainly worht a lot more than that. Except for the exhaust manifold all the other parts are completely functional and the tires are good, too! Grrrrrrrr...

BJ, how did the jr. high drop-out class go? Chera, what time will you be getting here on the 4th? On the evening of the 4th Mr. Bol. is having a ladies' self-defense class that I'm going to be going to. So, if you want to go bring some loose, comfy pants and t-shirt you can do it, too! JC, when would be a good time to call you?

Love y'all all dearly!
