My favorite (live) chickens
Faramer (sp?), son of Ready Rooster and Goldie, brother of the deceased Boromir (Yes, we really did name them that and Boromir really did die.) Faramir is the sweetest thing! He's the underdog (underrooster?), and has one eye that's not quite right. He hangs out around the back porch and the gate. When I'm working on the volari he'll just come and walk around next to me.
Eagle is one of the smartest chickens we've ever had, right up there with Centromer, Betty, and Sheba. She's also really friendly and a good mama. She's raised Sparrow, Goldberry, Falcon, Bop-a-doo, Silver Jade, and four more that we haven't named yet. There too young to tell if they're boys or girls. Silver Jade and one of the unnamed chicks are actually Silver's; Silver is too dumb to raise her own chicks. Eagle got her name because when she was younger, she and her siblings would try to roost in the hedges. We would be digging through there looking for chickens and would all of sudden see two, forward-facing eyes. She kinda had a bird-of-prey head so she become Eagle. BTW, all the chicks she's raised are also favorite chickens because they're so friendly.
Sirena yelled all the way home from Atwoods so Mama, Ethan, and Samuel named her Siren. But Sirena soudns prettier. She is a beautiful gold chicken. She hangs out with Faramir, Silver, Eagle, and Eagle's chicks.
Silver is a gorgeous and friendly silver chicken. We think she's some kind of Japanese chickens.
The rest of our chickens either have no personality or mean ones (Ready and Bertie) so I won't talk about them.
More pets on the next post, whenver that is.
