I opened my gift from Chera today. It had the most touching note with it! Notes like that are worth more than the gift in my-not-so-humble-opinion. The gift was a burned cd. I don't know the names of a lot of the songs, but they're all really good! She picked good ones for me which proves how well you can get to know someone over the internet. I feel like I know she and her sisters. In fact, I probably know them better than most of the families in Baptist Chapel or CHEF. Chera justs inspires and gets dearer to me everytime I do anything with her.
Mama and I went grocery shopping this morning. She's done with all the Christmas present shopping, but we needed all the stuff for the feast. It was real fun. We talked and talked about a million and one topics. How people could ever be bored while out with their mom is beyond me.
I wonder if Sam is back in town. I have several questions about my essay.
We got WORLD yesterday with the Daniel of the Year featured on the cover. It was Phillip Johnson picked because of his stance against evolution. I'm sure Mr. Johnson is a great man who has had come under criticism for his stance, but that's like giving the housewarming gift to the next-door-neighbor, or talking to the curator of the cathedral rather than the architect. If you're going to talk about creation science it's all Henry Morris. He's done more than anybody, and has been doing it for 40+ years.
Rita called today. We talked about LOTR and then got onto if we've changed since 96' or '97. It comes out that she's not attending church, having devotions, or have any desire to grow in the Lord. I told her that I would pray for her, and that because of our sin nature that's where we all would be, and that's God who puts the desire in us and makes the change. She is one of my oldest friends, and she is really dear to me. Please pray for her. She has such potential, and I want to relate to her as disciple-to-disciple.
Gotta go!
