I had a post ready earlier today, but I closed the wrong window! Tsk, tsk... I haven't posted in nearly a week! And I don't have an excuse either. My most humble and sincere apologies!
Chess class went really well on Thursday. I only played one game. The fellow I was playing with, Corrie (sp? I t might be spelled different as a boy's name.) and I were pretty even matches. I did win the game, but it took forever. Each family who sigs up gets 2 chess sets. It's the kind of board that you can fold up and the pieces are in a good sturdy freezer bag so it's portable. Very handy.
Friday Isaac and up minues Mama went to the airshow. We saw several cropdusters do acrobatics as well as a Lear jet and F-15 do the same! And then what's called the Heritage Flight, the F-15 flying in formation with a B-25 with Apollo 13 theme music playing. Gives ya chills. We all got terribly sunburned and I walked around feeling awful the rest of the day and Sat.
But I did nothing but sit for 10 hours on Sat., so it wasn't too bad. Ethan, Naomi, and I took the Hunter's Safety course and all passed!
Sunday was good. Lovely weather, good sermon in the morning. We went back for the evening service to hear Tim P., our music directory, talk about his trip to the Phillipines. Very moving description of the poverty and faith of a family, the Buenos. Please pray for them. It's 4 kids (14-6, sandwich style. Boys in the middle, girls on the outside.) and 3 adults (mom, and her parents. The husband ran off with another lady.) in a 10 ft. x 8 ft, schack that costs $12 a month to rent. Tim and his brother and sister-in-law bought the kids clothes, a fan, rice cooker, $100 worth of groceries and set up a bank account that they'll deposit into so the kids can go to school (they had to quit to work.).
It's been lovely weather yesterday and today. 70s, sunny. We've been outside a lot, obviously.
We made chocolate oatmeal cookies today.
Started biology module #13 today.
BJ is practicing Fur Elise. Very beautiful.
Our t.v. is back from the shop and is working wonderfully!
