Mesa back! I was too tired to post yesterday, even though we got back late Monday night.
The drive home went well. The drive there, on the other hand, seemed to be a trip in the Twilight Zone. We didn't have any big glitches with the van the whole way though! We left later than we had originally planned Friday. But, God got it all worked out. Got us to Lincoln, Illinois in time for supper and a hot air balloon festival with 39 balloons! We left Mama's purse there, 25 miles later realized it, prayed and raced back. It was still there with wallet and credit cards! PTL! And Ethan prayed for cool weather while we were driving, which we had!
Sat. we went to A. Trish's house with all Dad's immediate family and most of their kids and their kids' girlfriends. Played volleyball and ate and played volleyball and ate and pla... I found out that I have a pretty good serve! Sunday went to a church in town. Excellent pianist named Joseph who was very friendly. He's the 2nd of 11 kids and I think he was homeschooled. His parents went to the mission field in Chad, Africa back in '97. He's a newly wed of 1 1/2 months. I got to visit a little bit with his sister-in-law who was born deaf. She just recently got a cochlear (sp?) implant and is now learning to identify sounds. She was homeschooled during high school, and is now attending college, majoring in graphic design. She could talk surprisingly well. And I can't remember her name! After church, we went back to the motel, had a snack, went to the party, talked and ate, went to the motel and swam, and then had supper at Trish's, just us and her and U. Chuck. It was KFC with cole slaw, mac and cheese, biscuits, and gravy! Then we went back to the motel and collasped, and then drove home, arriving late Mon. night.
And this has taken me so long, that my time is up, and I'll have to write about our visit with U. Rod and A. Leona tomorrow!
