Hey, your delinquent friend is back!
I am now a huge fan of flying! Taking off felt like having your cart go off the track on a rollercoaster. Feel the Gs! And then shooting above the cloud layer to the sunrise was beyond words. Another amazing thing was getting to see a rainbow from the air: it's circular!
The O'hare airport was terrifying in how many planes at a time were on the ground, moving, and in close proximity to each other. I definitely admire air traffic controllers.
The Davidsons are wonderful! I had oodles of fun and laughed till I cried. I miss them already.
They all thought I was funny walking around in socks, shoes, and a jacket while everyone else was in jeans and tees. Except Karen the lizard. We shivered together.
The wedding was beautiful, happy, and sweet. Everything you would want a wedding to be. Trae's toast was poetic and stirring, Chera's (with two minute notice to make one up!) was hilarious. The throwing of the garter was the funniest thing ever. I'll post a picture later with story.
I got to see Lake Huron by moonlight. It was stunning.
Good news! The ban on DDT has been lifted. About time!
I'm sure I'll think of more things to post about my trip later. I miss Chera. Oh, and I'm so sorry that it didn't even occur to me to call and let you know I got home safe. Duh!
I'm going to go do music practice and read with Isaac and possibly hang my clothes. Love y'all!
